INDULGING IN DECADENCE

ARGENTINA

Argentina is known for its tango and gaucho culture, its world-famous grass-fed beef and bold, fruity Malbecs. But this country, the seventh largest in the world, with its large Italian and Spanish influence, is also on the forefront of the good food movement. With organic food and wines becoming increasingly popular, farmers' markets and food trucks popping up in cities, and artisanal products gaining shelf space, Argentina's food culture has never been quite so innovative. Join us for 10-14 days as we discover the passionate, vibrant culture of Argentina. Below is a sample itinerary, which can be customized upon request.

  • TANGO, TASTE, AND EXPLORE your way though the streets of Buenos Aires, "the Paris of South America." The metropolis fuses European chic with Latin art, music and food to create a unique culture that oozes out of every cafe, alley and park corner.
  • DAY TRIP to the Mercado de Matadores – This weekly market an hour outside the city center is a showcase of Argentina’s traditional gaucho (cowboy) culture. Typical foods, crafts, Argentinean dances, folklore shows and ring races provide an immersive cultural experience.
  • ORGANIC COOKING CLASS with Juliana Lopez-May, an internationally recognized Argentine chef and television personality who promotes healthy, natural cooking without sacrificing flavor.
  • CASA FELIX “closed-door” dinner takes place in the charming home of an Argentine chef who provides an emphasis on local and Latin sourced food. Along with a beautiful meal, Alfonso will share his insights into the importance of a local, sustainable food system
  • FARM TOURS - We'll visit an organic vegetable farm and grain mill, a local dairy and cheesemaker, and a biodynamic vineyard and explore what goes into making our bread, cheese and wine while having tasty samples along the way
  • INDULGE in wine in the vineyard as you taste world-reknowned Malbecs, Cabernets and Pinot Noirs from Mendoza's celebrated Uco Valley and speak with the winemakers who blend art and science to create the drink of the gods
  • SAVOR a traditional Argentine parilla BBQ with a local farming family
  • FEAST YOUR EYES on the world's longest mountain range, the Andes
  • RELAX in a thermal hot spring spa
  • WHITE WATER RAFT in the Andes - it's as thrilling and adrenaline-spiking as it sounds!
