Migrant Justice gathers is building a movement to secure fundamental human rights to: 1) Dignified Work and Quality Housing; 2) Freedom of Movement and Access to Transportation; 3) Freedom from discrimination; 4) Access to Health Care.

University of Vermont Medical Center Rooftop Garden and Fanny Allen Rehab Center -  Because Food is Medicine! We’ll visit two different UVM Medical Center locations that host an Employee Teaching Community Garden, a Gardening for Health program, a Learning Garden, Garden Pantry, Cutting Garden and a Healing Garden to learn more about these unique healthcare initiatives.

Pine Islands Community Farm is a place where New Americans—people who originally came to Vermont as refugees—can produce food and enjoy the land. The Gardens are home to three initiatives; a goat farm, a direct-to-consumer meat bird operation and seven acres of community gardens that are used by approximately 75+ families from 10 countries. The goat slaughter operation will be open during our visit and we’ll have a chance to chat with some of the farmers and gardeners.
